Over 27,000 people have signed a Change.org petition to make “It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia” star Danny Devito succeed Hugh Jackman in playing Wolverine in any possible future “X-Men” reboots.
The petition, titled “Have Danny DeVito play the rebooted Wolverine in the MCU,” reads, “We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito.”
The petition continues, “A couple good reasons as to why I believe so strongly that he suits the character: Danny DeVito’s height is a lot closer to the comic books portrayal of Wolverine. With Danny being 4’10” and Wolverine 5’3″. Secondly, we all saw Danny’s portrayal of the Trashman. So, we know he is fully capable of fighting, and that he is not afraid when things get dirty!”
The 74-year old actor/comedian has gained glowing recommendations from signatories, with one writing, “This is the most important cause I’ve ever supported,” with another writing, “Clearly Danny DeVito is the best actor for this role. Anyone else would ruin the movie.”
Clearly, many are sold on this idea, with one Instagram user @sc_concept_artist, having already created a concept poster for a Devito-starring Wolverine movie.

So I've been seeing some really weird suggestions for the eventual recasting of Wolverine in the MCU. So I felt it was time I posted one of my own. The Wolverine we all deserve and the one guy who we all know could pull it off 😉 #conceptdesign #characterdesign #comicbookart #marvel #moviedesign #digitalart #marvelfan #xmen #x-men #conceptart #marvelmovies #wolverine #lukeevans #mcu #tbt #dannydevito #itsallwayssunnyinphiladelphia
